He sought help from a local traditional medicine practitioner, who used ayurvedic medicine for his treatment.
Sadly, the medicine was not as efficient as hoped, and Brijlal's wound became worse.
When the Tulsi Trust team visited Brijlal's village on one of their tours, they were called to his house. The team realised instantly that the leg needed urgent treatment, as the wound was festering.
They organised immediate transfer of Brijlal to hospital with our ambulance service.
At the hospital, doctors had to remove layers of dead and decomposed muscle tissue from the leg. Brijlal stayed in hospital for two weeks before returning home in our ambulance.
After his return, the Tulsi Trust team visited him regularly to make sure the wound was properly dressed and kept clean.
Thanks to timely intervention, and the great work of the surgeons, Brijlal's leg healed nicely, and he is able to work again.
