For quite some time now, we have been holding monthly mother and baby camps, during which our team can provide basic checkups, educate, and hand out supplements, medicine, food, and clothes.
However, many of the women in the area will not allow male staff to conduct intimate checkups, and thus often had to be transferred to city hospitals for further treatments.
Apart from medical checkups, medicines, supplements, and donations of food and clothes, a big goal of our outreach program is to educate.
There are many cases of child marriages, and girls of a very young age are becoming pregnant, which presents a high risk of problems and
risk of fatality of mother and baby. Many women are not taking proper care during pregnancy, some are doing hard physical work. Many are not able to or aware of the importance of eating properly. Often times, their husbands are ignorant about their wive's needs at this time.
